Who we need

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, we are hiring a Laboratory Analyst to join our laboratory operations team in Mississauga. As our new Laboratory Analyst, you will perform analytical testing and laboratory procedures to produce accurate, reliable data that supports client requirements and quality standards. You will prepare and analyze samples, operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation, maintain accurate records, and follow established procedures to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Working closely with laboratory colleagues, you will contribute to a high-quality testing environment while supporting continuous improvement, compliance, and strong laboratory practices.

This is a permanent, onsite role based in our Mississauga office, expected to work on-site five days per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

How you will make an impact

  • Prepare and analyze samples. You will perform sample preparation and analytical testing by following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring all work is completed accurately, safely, and within required turnaround times.
  • Operate laboratory equipment. You will learn and operate laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including balances, pipettes, centrifuges, mixers, vacuum pumps, and specialized analytical instruments, while maintaining equipment and preparing reagents required for testing.
  • Maintain quality and accuracy. You will apply quality control procedures throughout the testing process, ensuring accurate record keeping, proper sample handling, and the prevention of cross-contamination or sample mix-ups. You will use laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and internal quality platforms to document and track work.
  • Support laboratory operations. You will maintain clean, organized workspaces, monitor laboratory supplies, update training records, and proactively communicate any sample issues, delays, or procedural deviations to your supervisor.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement. You will actively participate in safety initiatives, laboratory meetings, audits, and ongoing process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and service delivery.

  • The laboratory knowledge. You have gained the knowledge required for this role through education, laboratory experience, or a combination of both. Experience working in an analytical or environmental laboratory is an asset.
  • The attention to detail. You understand the importance of accuracy, documentation, and following established procedures. You take pride in producing reliable work and maintaining high quality standards.
  • The technical aptitude. You are comfortable learning new laboratory techniques, equipment, and computer systems. Experience using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or quality management software is considered an asset.

Compensation 

  • This posting is for an existing vacancy 
  • The salary for this role is $19 to $21 per hour.  Our salary ranges reflect the range of skills and experience required for the posted position. The final offer amount for this role will depend on geographical region, applicable experience, internal equity, and the skillset of the candidate.
