Who we need

Reporting to the Sample Logistics Manager, Eastern Canada, we are hiring a Customer Support Technician to join our Kingston Service Centre. As our new Customer Support Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring environmental samples move efficiently and accurately from client intake through to laboratory processing. Acting as the first point of contact for clients and the connection between customer service, logistics, and laboratory operations, you will receive and process samples, maintain accurate documentation, coordinate shipments, and ensure every submission meets regulatory and quality requirements. Your work will directly support the integrity of our testing processes while delivering a professional and responsive experience for our clients.

This is an existing full-time, onsite role based in our Kingston location working Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What's in it for you

Purpose. Every sample you receive, process, and coordinate supports testing that helps protect public health, the environment, and communities. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will directly contribute to reliable laboratory results that clients depend on to make informed decisions and meet regulatory requirements.

Variety and collaboration. This is a role that combines customer service, logistics, and laboratory operations. You will interact with clients, coordinate with courier services, and work closely with laboratory, customer service, business development, and sample logistics teams, giving you broad exposure to the end-to-end testing process and the opportunity to build valuable knowledge across the business.

Growth and stability. As part of a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, you will join a team that values quality, safety, and continuous learning. You will receive training in laboratory processes, quality systems, and Transport of Dangerous Goods certification while developing skills that can open doors to future opportunities across Bureau Veritas' laboratory and operational teams.

How you will make an impact

  • Receive and process client samples. You will serve as the first point of contact for incoming samples, ensuring they are received, documented, and entered into our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) accurately and within required timelines. You will review Chain of Custody documentation, verify sample requirements, and help ensure every submission is ready for timely analysis.
  • Coordinate the flow of samples. You will organize, prepare, and redirect samples based on testing requirements, communicating priority submissions and short holding times to laboratory teams. Working with courier providers and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure samples move efficiently through every stage of the process.
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience. You will greet clients, respond to inquiries, prepare bottle orders, and provide knowledgeable, responsive support throughout the sample submission process. By building positive relationships and resolving issues quickly, you will help create a seamless experience for both new and existing clients.
  • Maintain quality and compliance. You will follow established quality systems, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols to ensure every sample is handled correctly. You will monitor equipment, maintain inventory, support health and safety initiatives, and obtain and apply Transport of Dangerous Goods certification to support the safe handling and transportation of samples.
  • Collaborate to improve operations. You will work closely with Customer Service, Business Development, Sample Logistics, and Laboratory Operations to support daily activities, share information, and identify opportunities to improve processes and service delivery. You will also provide support to related operational areas as needed, contributing to the success of the broader team.

What you bring

  • The customer focus. You enjoy building positive relationships and take pride in providing responsive, professional service. Whether greeting clients, answering questions, or resolving issues, you communicate clearly and create a positive experience with every interaction.
  • The attention to detail. You are highly organized and understand the importance of accuracy when handling documentation, entering data, and processing samples. You can manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • The problem-solving skills. You can identify issues, think through solutions, and know when to escalate concerns. You approach challenges with sound judgment, a positive attitude, and a commitment to finding the best outcome for clients and the team.
  • The collaborative mindset. You enjoy working as part of a team and build strong relationships across functions. You are adaptable, dependable, and ready to support colleagues wherever needed to keep work moving forward.
  • The technical foundation. You are comfortable using computer applications such as Microsoft Office and can quickly learn new systems and processes, including laboratory information management systems (LIMS). You can safely perform the physical aspects of the role, including lifting and moving sample containers weighing up to 40 pounds.
